    The program of studies of the Hershey High School
    is planned to meet the needs of the youth of the Derry Township School District. A major task of the school is to accommodate learners with divergent needs, goals, capabilities and interests. To this end, an effort is made to nurture individual skills and to satisfy individual needs.
    It is also the responsibility of the school to furnish opportunities for students to participate in cultural activities that may otherwise not be available to them. Extracurricular and enrichment programs are offered to satisfy this aspect.

    Hershey High School was built in 1996 and expanded in 2007. The facility is 231,000 square feet, has a card access system; phone/television/internet access in all classrooms; auditorium seating for 1,300; two CAD labs; classrooms for family and consumer sciences; full gym, weight and cardio exercise rooms;
    full band and orchestra/chorus rooms; three art rooms; closed circuit television capacity; a production office and library/media center.

  • Java With Joe September 28, 2017

    Want to know more about the direction of K-12 education? Have something you’d like to discuss with Superintendent Joe McFarland in an informal community roundtable setting? You can do all of these and enjoy a steaming cup of coffee during “Java with Joe.” Designed as an opportunity for community members and the district’s top administrator to get together in a casual environment, Mr. McFarland will once again be hosting this series of quarterly listening events. The next “Java with Joe” will be held Thursday, September 28 in the Early Childhood Center Multi-Purpose Room beginning at 9:30 a.m.

  • Activities Bus Service Pilot Program

    DTSD is piloting a special courtesy transportation service for students in Grades 6-12 engaged in extra-curricular programs. The Activities Bus runs Monday – Friday during regular school days and provides transportation home for students involved in clubs, sports and other after-school activities. The bus departs the HHS/HMS Bus Corral at 5:30 p.m. Run length will vary, depending on the number of students and their home destination.

  • SAT Prep Workshop

    Hershey High School is once again pleased to offer an SAT Prep Workshop this fall to prepare students for upcoming Scholastic Aptitude Tests.   • 2017-2018 Budget Freezes Taxes, Maintains Programs!

    At the June 12th school board meeting, the Derry Township School District Board of School Directors proposed a $61.4 million budget for the 2017-2018 school year, with no increase in taxes. The Final 2017-2018 budget provides for resources for all programs currently operated by the Derry Township School District. In addition the final 2017-2018 budget includes a few enhancements to our current programs. First being all students in grades 6th through 12th will receive an iPad that can be used in school and at home. Second the budget includes expenses to support the development of the district’s full day kindergarten program for the 2018-2019 school year.

  • Full Day Kindergarten Information Page

    At the June 12, 2017 School Board Meeting, the Board of School Directors approved the transition to Full-Day Kindergarten beginning the 2018-2019 school year. The measure includes an option for parents/guardians who prefer a ½-day program. In order to keep parents/guardians and community members informed, we have created an area on our web site that serves as a repository for background information and other pertinent resources you may find of interest. Student Parking

    Register graphic Online registration for student parking passes at Hershey High School will open on Monday, August 14. 2017. Juniors and seniors wishing to park must carefully review the “Student Driver Rules and Regulations Agreement” document that is linked on the parking registration site for complete parking information. Eligible and registered juniors and seniors will be assigned a numbered tag (for the lower lots or Pebble Beach), but not a numbered spot.  

    NOTE: You will be required to sign in to Google using your Derry Township student credentials in order to register.
