is planned to meet the needs of the youth of the Derry Township School District. A major task of the school is to accommodate learners with divergent needs, goals, capabilities and interests. To this end, an effort is made to nurture individual skills and to satisfy individual needs.
It is also the responsibility of the school to furnish opportunities for students to participate in cultural activities that may otherwise not be available to them. Extracurricular and enrichment programs are offered to satisfy this aspect.

Hershey High School was built in 1996 and expanded in 2007. The facility is 231,000 square feet, has a card access system; phone/television/internet access in all classrooms; auditorium seating for 1,300; two CAD labs; classrooms for family and consumer sciences; full gym, weight and cardio exercise rooms;
full band and orchestra/chorus rooms; three art rooms; closed circuit television capacity; a production office and library/media center.

  • Citizen Advisors Sought for Board Committees

    The Derry Township School District Board of School Directors is seeking interested citizen advisors to six standing committees. Applicants are being sought for two spots on each of the Athletics & Activities, Communications& Community Engagement, Curriculum Council, Finance, General Services and Policy committees. Completed applications should be submitted to the district by close of business Friday, September 18.

    WELCOME BACK: New School Year Begins August 31!

    The 2015-2016 School Year begins Monday, August 31. DTSD uses a modified dismissal schedule for secondary students the first week of the new school year. This allows both students and bus drivers an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the end-of-day routines and routes, while also providing sufficient time for the buses to return to campus for the elementary dismissal. Dismissal time for Hershey Middle School and Hershey High School students will be 2:15 p.m. Monday August 31 through Thursday, September 3.

  • DTSD All Sports Pass Offered for 2015-2016 Events

    DTSD is now offering its “2015-16 All-Sports Pass” to DTSD students and district residents. The pass allows the bearer to attend all home regular season sporting events during the 2015-16 school year at no additional cost. All-sports passes can be purchased in the Athletic Office located in Hershey High School at a cost of $20 for students and $40 for adults.
