The Primary Elementary School serves children in second and third grades.  The school building was originally constructed in 1954 and renovated in 1991. Today the facility offers more than 154,000 square feet dedicated to meeting the needs of young learners.

Young children learn by doing. Learning is sequential and children must demonstrate readiness for new understandings based on their maturation and past experiences. Children acquire information and knowledge through interaction with people and objects. They are motivated to learn through their own need to make sense of the world around them.
The building has a card access system and offers telephone, television and intranet access in each classroom.  Other amenities include a multi-purpose room, two cafeterias/multi-purpose room, and a gymnasium with auxiliary gym space.

"The mission of The Four Diamonds Fund is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Children's Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research."

In keeping with the district's COCOA Principles, middle school students  are involved in the education, awareness, and the invitation to sponsors to assist in this mission throughout the month of February.  Through our Advisory program, each student represents one of the four diamonds of courage, honesty, wisdom, and strength.  The diamonds together symbolize the commitment and unity to make a positive impact for this community service.
