Athletic ExamsOverviewAll students interested in going out for a district-sponsored sport team are required to complete a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation. As a service to its students, Derry Township School District offers phsyical exams during the summer. No sports physicals will be given at the school before the winter and spring seasons. Completing the physical is the responsibility of the student athlete and not that of the district. The Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation should be completed after June 1 for the first season of competition in the new athletic year. All subsequent sport seasons in an athletic year require a PIAA Section 7 re-certification, signed by a parent. If a student-athlete sustained an injury after the physical was competed, they must have a Section 7 as well as Section 8, signed by the doctor to participate.
Spring Sports Athletes: The first day of spring sports practice is Monday, March 5th. All physical paperwork & recertification forms are due to the athletic office before this date. If you played a fall or winter sport, please be sure to submit your completed & signed recert form to the athletic office before this date.Impact Testing is for Student-Athletes entering 7th, 9th and 11th grade or new to a sport competing in football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, wrestling, diving, softball, baseball and lacrosse.HIgh School questions contact Lea Vandegrift at firstname.lastname@example.orgMiddle School questions contact Jorand Bartal at email@example.comRelated Link:
