What DTSD is Doing About H1N1
H1N1 - or "Swine Flu" - is a respiratory disease of pigs that has been capturing a great deal of attention due to the potential impacts on human health. Because schools are places where individuals congregate, Derry Township School District has been monitoring developments related to this illness.
DTSD is following the guidelines from the Department of Education and public health experts at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers For Disease Control and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Our maintenance staff will continue to adhere to a strict disinfection schedule with the intent of keeping our schools open for learning. Particular attention is being paid to sanitation of "often touched" items such as door knobs and hand rails.
As a courtesy to parents, DTSD has established this web page as a resource. It contains links to fact sheets, information and advice you may find useful in learning about the flu.
